Central Continues to Focus on Affordability
Posted November 4, 2021
Committed to affordability and our students’ experiences, the Central College Board of Trustees has approved a 2.9% (or $858) increase for tuition, room and board in the 2022-23 academic year.
Tuition: | $19,800 |
Room: | $5,200 |
Board: | $5,660 |
Total: | $30,660 |
Central is dedicated to excellent teaching, research and service resulting in the highest quality education and preparation available to our students. This minimal increase helps cover a portion of the college’s increased costs and inflation while allowing us to keep a Central education accessible and affordable to students and families.
Commensurate with our commitment to access and affordability, 99% of students receive financial aid, including scholarships supported by alumni and donors. Our pledge to support students with an affordable education has garnered record-breaking fundraising for several years and has made the financial aid you have received possible.
Central proudly upholds its history of being affordable for students. With the modest increase, Central will still be the most affordable four-year, private college in Iowa. In addition, our costs are proportionate with those of the state’s four-year public universities, while allowing Central students to enjoy the advantages of a 12:1 student to faculty ratio.
