March 2022 Announcements
Posted March 9, 2022
Dear Central students, faculty and staff,
The first half of this academic semester has been out of this world — literally!
It started with your return to campus and amazing participation in Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities. Then we enjoyed several wonderful events for Black History Month; the student body elected a new student body president in Quinn Deahl; and just a few weeks ago we all had the opportunity to listen in firsthand to Raja Chari — husband of Holly Schaffter Chari ’99 — live from the International Space Station.
As we look forward, please do your best to stay healthy during break and the final half of the semester. Join the Central family in exercise by participating in Central’s 53-Mile Challenge. Enjoy the outdoors and find time to recharge.
Once you return from break, we are excited to experience together several spring traditions. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I really love this place and I’m looking forward to all that’s ahead of us in the months to come, including the first in-person Scholarship Dinner since 2019, the 87th Tulip Time event and Commencement for the Class of 2022.
Now, I’ve got a little bit of a fun assignment to ask you to do while on Spring Break. (And, yes, Central’s marketing team has put me up to this!) Please wear your Central gear wherever you travel while enjoying the break, share on your social media channels, tag Central College in the post and use #CentralSpringBreak to be featured on our feed.
Thank you for a great start to 2022. Enjoy your time off and stay safe.
